“A Different Perspective on Rainbows”
In the presence of my deepest childhood inspirations, manifest visions in my half-asleep mind’s eye.
"From Dusty Visions to Sketchbook Compositions"
This series was born out of a season of bitter disappointment. I felt displaced and trapped after a loss and was longing for what was no longer mine. This series depicts situations contrary to a natural state of things, often with a sense of disruption or breakthrough, or even what may await on the other side: the vulture dons a crown of elegant flowers erupting from its ugly head; a massive hippo floats along trapped in a weightless bubble, and a manatee and octopus long for another world in which they may never be a part...

China: Aging, Lost & Lovely
I've fallen in love with this city's "wrinkles", and I'm captivated by what is lost in translation- from language to architecture. I'm curious about what stories are behind each of these building's fallen boards, moss-eaten roofs, and pathways. I'm driven to want to capture the lovely in those old structures that give me glee to see them bathed in sunlight or rain.
These are all marker on watercolor paper. Some have been touched up with colored pencil.

100 Days of Being Trudy Yourself
Trudy was a playful challenge I gave myself to create a character I could draw 100 times in one week in various scenarios. With Trudy came the catch phrase "Be Trudy Yourself" as it sounds "Be true to yourself" for a little word play. Thus launched the most creative year I have had yet after this little collection inspired me and warmed me up to drawing digitally. Here are some of my favorites from that challenge.
